Butterflies Migrating

Leapin' Lepidoptera!! Butterflies from around the world have migrated into one super pattern book. Filled with flurries of wings in full color on every page, this is not your every day garden variety tatting pattern book.

Butterfly patterns for all skill levels are included; plain, multi-colored, beaded and flowered. See sample of pattern style and diagram. Many tatters from all the seven continents helped make this book a reality. But the patterns are the least of the story.

What lifts this tatting pattern book above the normal and into the realm of the wonderful is the story of the Palmetto Tatters Guild. Each of these tatters who helped to bring tatting to life at the State Fair have done more than just tat a butterfly, they have firmly established tatting as a presence in their daily life, community, and their state fair.

As their contribution to International Tatting Day (April 1) they have also organized an annual tatting teaching day. Their next Tat Days celebration will be held Sept. 7-8, 2007 in Columbia SC. Contact: .

I cannot praise the efforts of this group high enough. I congratulate them on a marvelous pattern book. And I wish their guild every success in keeping tatting alive for generations to come.
