This new book of tatted crosses from Julie Patterson of Australia is an encore to her first book, "Knots and Crosses." It has 27 pages of large photos, easy to read diagrams and step by step directions. There is a list of illustrated abbreviations and her diagrams and explanation of block tatting is very well presented.

I was particularly intrigued by the combination of dimpled hearts and chains of Victorian sets in the "Sweetheart" cross. The celtic effect achieved in the "Marnie May" seems to have been created by crossing the work and working back to the jump off point. This is one effect I can't wait to try out!
