Il Lavoro Chiacchierino #11

The Italian series of tatting books has released book #11. This lavishly produced extravanga of patterns is gorgeous. All the lace patterns have closeup full color photos. And now there are a few easy to read, numbered diagrams on some of the pages and a black and white insert for the other (but not all) patterns. The book is magazine style with 72 pages including the how-to section in the back. As always the Italians feature solid traditional style doilies and motifs, side by side with whimsical flowers for table linens, edgings and inserts for window curtains as well as wearables.

This is the first issue which has a motif that I cannot figure out how to tat (pg 69...the solidly filled ring has me stumped!!) One of the antique patterns which they have reproduced is the butterfly from Adeline Cordet's book #5 (1916) pg. 15 motif #540. See sample of pattern style and diagram.
