This is an antique booklet rescued from obscurity by Asta Cebulla. There are 74 illustrations of tatted lace. There are no patterns. There are no diagrams. Just closeup detailed photos of the tatting.
The experienced tatter will be able to recreate these designs without difficulty. The newer tatter may find this a worthwhile exercise in diagramming or writing patterns.
The booklet is 8.5" x 11" and has 12 pages. There is no clue as to the designer nor the purpose of the book (original cover). It appears to me that it might even have been a "stock" book of patterns tatted for sale, although no price appears anywhere in the booklet. There are some familar early 20th century style patterns and several uses of the "onion dome" rings (rings surrounded by rings or chains.) Nine doilies, two corners, several individual motifs and many edgings suitable for both needle and shuttle tatting. (Sample)
