April 2008
I was simply brought to tears by the photos of the wonderful tatting in which Marie Janet Meissner has dressed her Christmas tree. Here are two photos of the main tree by day and by night and a close up of her angel tree. Marie is looking for more tatted angels patterns for her tree, btw. A stunning achievement.

Mike wrote: I discovered your site a couple months ago and just LOVE it! It is replete with great information and projects.I've been tatting for about 15 years now (I'm a 38yr old male) after having been taught by a 92 year old lady from Quebec Canada (I still use the shuttle she gave me).
In any case, I pretty much stuck to the basic stuff, but I discovered the split ring technique on your site and LOVE IT! This gave me access to the "endless tatting" project from your 2005 classes as well as a chainless heart of Teri Dusenbury's. I also learned about tatting with beads from your site.
I put all that together for a project - My 7yr old daughter recently went to a formal event & I tatted a small handbag for her. What a delight to make such project! All thanks to your site! Thanks for bringing my tatting to a whole new level of proficiency & enjoyment! mlong at unbsj.ca

Winging its way in from Jon in Malaysia is the first example of Wally Sosa's rewrite of the Nellie H Youngburg Butterfly.
Stephanie Wilson is experimenting with the all front/back look to her tatting. Here is her first doily using all downjoins.
Stephanie has also completed her first piece of needle tatting. The motif was in the Carol Forbes lessons recently. She also mentioned that this needle-tatted motif that we did in class would be ideal for putting on a big barrette for a little girl - maybe even for a "big" girl. Or you could make several, join them at one end, and sew them to a hairband. It's a nice shape for all sorts of things.
And here is Stephanie's version of Wally's NHYbutterfly
