To make an 18-inch* necklace requires: 2 shuttles; 10 yards DMC Silver metallic thread; 10 yards DMC Gold metallic thread; 206 pearls.
String 104 beads on Shuttle 1 (Silver thread); string 102 beads on Shuttle 2 (gold thread). |
|
Using Shuttle 1. R1 (requires 2 beads on knotting (ring) thread: 5, B, 5, P, 3, B, 3, CL; RW. Using Shuttle 2. C1: 5, B, 5, P, 3, B, 3, L; RW. Using Shuttle 1. C2: 5, B, 5, P, 3, B, 3, L; RW. Repeat chains 1 and 2 for desired length of necklace. An 18-inch* necklace requires a total of 103 repetitions (1 silver ring, 51 silver chains, 51 gold chains). |
Variations in length and size can be made easily. For example, a 7-inch* bracelet using a smaller pearl would be as follows:
Using shuttle 1. R1 (requires 2 beads on knotting (ring) thread: 4, b, 4, P, 2, b, 2, CL; RW.
Using shuttle 2. C1: 4, b, 4, P, 2, b, 2, L; RW.
Using shuttle 1. C2: 4, b, 4, P, 2, b, 2, L; RW.
Repeat for a total of 41 repetitions ( 1 silver ring, 20 silver chains, 20 gold chains).
Another variation using large pearls and small pearls would be:
For a 20-inch* necklace: String 45 large beads and 45 small beads on Shuttle 1 (Silver thread), alternating large and small beads. String 88 large beads and 44 small beads on Shuttle 2 (gold thread) as follows: large bead, large bead, small bead. |
|
Using Shuttle 1. R1 (requires 2 beads on knotting (ring) thread: 7, B, 7, P, 4, b, 4, CL; RW. Using Shuttle 2. C1: 5, B, 5, B, 5, P, 4, b, 4, L; RW. Using Shuttle 1. C2: 7, B, 7, P, 4, b, 4, L; RW. Repeat chains 1 and 2 for desired length of necklace. A 20-inch* necklace requires a total of 89 repetitions (1 silver ring, 44 silver chains, 44 gold chains). |
*All lengths are approximations. Lengths will vary with size of thread and tightness of doublestitches.
