Linda Evans' March Snowflake

Linda Evans shares this lovely snowflake with us. It looks pretty straightforward but in reality it is an exercise in using the split ring and the split chain to climb from the center motif to the outside all in one pass! Many thanks.

Center:
R 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2
Climb out of ring with false picot

Rnd 1:
Split ring 5 / 5 RW
*CH 6 RW
R 4 - 4 - 4 - 4 RW
CH 6
R 5 +(join to next free picot on center) 5 *
Repeat from * to *until you have 5 points in all
Last chain:
Split chain 6 / 6 + (joining to start)
Split ring 4 - 4 / 4 - 4
Climb out with false picot

Rnd 2:
CH 8
R 8 - 2 - 2 - 4 - 4 RW
CH 3 - (long picot) 3 RW
R 4 + 4 - 2 - 2 - 4 - 4 RW
CH 3 - 3
R 3 + 3 - 2 - 2 - 3 - 3 RW
CH 3 RW
R 2 + 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 RW
CH 3 RW
R 3 + 3 - 2 - 2 - 3 - 3 RW
CH 3+(join to opposite chain) 3 RW
R 4 + 4 - 2 - 2 - 4 - 4 RW
CH 3+(join to long picot) 3 RW
R 4+4 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 8 RW
CH 8 + (join to center picot of next ring of previous round)
CH 8
R 8 +(join to first picot on last ring) 2 - 2 - 2 - 4 - 4
Repeat all around joining last large ring to last and first arms, and then CH 8 and join to beginning of round.
