An Interesting Discovery About
Heidi Sunday's Antique Hanky

Doris Sanders has a small shop in Weatherford Texas where she teaches tatting and sells tatting and lacemaking supplies and books. Although she is not a member of the online tatting class, one of our tatters, Kelly Mesek, stopped in to visit with her recently. While there, Kelly was looking through some of the tatting books on display there and examined Pam Palmer's "Tatting" (Shire Album 323).

To her astonishment she recognized a piece of lace in the book! It was the hankerchief which belonged to Heidi Sunday's grandmother recently recreated by tatters in the online tatting class. What a coincidence!

I have prepared a scan of the hanky as shown in Pam's book and the text which describes this type of machine made lace. You might want to print this and save it with the lesson notes.
