The flower patterns and the notecards featured in "Rings of Flowers" remind me greatly of Haiku, a form of Japanese poetry. The poem suggests the beauty of a moment in time captured in but the fewest of words. Mary Maynard's tatted designs "freeze-frame" moments from a garden using but a few pen strokes for greenery and a few stitches in thread.

This is an exciting first book of tatting patterns created by Mary Maynard of Laramie, Wyoming. A left-handed tatter of many years experience, Mary holds a BS in Textiles and Merchandising. In this book she has combined her business acumen and her love of tatting to produce a reference tool for tatters. "
