Onion Ring Snowflake (and Edging) Model by Wally Sosa

This construction at first seems to be the onion ring join, in this case the effect is created by surrounding the inner ring with a chain. Using two shuttles allows the tiny rings to be thrown off from the chain.

Onion Ring Snowflake

Using 2 shuttles wound CTM begin center motif.
R: 4 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 4. CL
R: 4 + 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 4. CL
Make a motif of 6 rings. Cut and Tie or climb out using split ring, mock picot.

A: R: 17 - 17. CL
B: CH: 4 - 4 - 4.
R: 7 - 7. CL.
CH: 4 - 4 - 4.
R: 7 - 7. CL. Join to p in A.
CH: 4 - 4 - 4.
R: 7 - 7. CL.

Join to base of Ring A.
CH: 6 + (to 4th p) 6 + (to 3rd p of next ring)

Repeat from A. Cut and Tie.

Edging:
Using 2 shuttles wound CTM begin edging.
