Jeanne discovered this while doing the Daisy Picot Stars for her daughter's wedding. She says that it works well with a variegated thread. The sample was made with size 20 Lizbeth thread in 115 springtime. Pull out 15" for the second shuttle thread, you can finger tat or wrap the thread onto a shuttle. This thread will be SH2 (you may need to take more off SH1 until you can get the color change where you need it.
ds = double stitchdt = direct tat - do not flip - wrap (like a split ring)
Pinch thread where there is a dramatic color change and finish wrapping your left hand.
