April 18, 2011 Aj Sutton shares a split ring bookmark pattern with us.  This very easy cross for beginners has 3 ds between picot and joins. Note that one chain is skipped at the inner corners to form the arms. The cross is decorated with free form flowers and greenery. Hubby did the camera work for me and I uploaded it to photobucket. I thought you might be able to use it in the online tatting class as it is very easy. It can be viewed here: How to make a tassel for a bookmark. I should mention that you do need to hold tight when wrapping. I thought it was pretty clear when I did it so didn't say it in the video. This tassel uses only one knot and all the ends are part of the tassel. The bookmark is the Black Magic Cross based on the Mary Konior pattern adapted by Vicky Reynolds for the Online Tatting class in size 100 DMC. I did use one less picot on the inside corners though to help it lay flat. My goal for this video was to help others to make wonderful tassels for their bookmarks, to pass on my grandma's knowledge to others and say thanks for all you do for the online tatting class.
