Marlene Lewis shares her tatting patterns with the online tatting class. She has prepared a trio of intriguing designs. Her bookmark incorporates buttons into the design joining to the holes of the button as if they were picots. It also uses the split ring and self-closing mock ring. The Ornament Cover pattern gives us an exercise in the lock stitch while the butterfly uses graduated picots, spiral chains, jospehine rings as well as split rings.
Marlene writes that she learned the lock stitch chain from Jane Eborall, too! This is the way she explains it. First half ds flipped, second half unflipped so when I say (on the lock chain ornament cover): Lock Chain : 4-3-3-3-3-3 I mean (1st ½ flipped, 2nd ½ unflipped)4x, [picot, (1st ½ flipped, 2nd ½ unflipped)3x]5x.
