picotsnkeys: more of a check on my technique: When I'm closing a ring, does it matter which way the needle goes through my "loop"?
AKTATTER: I have read that in the past some tatters simply laid a ruler on their work surface
AKTATTER: and would bring the lace to the ruler to measure
AKTATTER: that will work very well with needle tatting when reproducing the one shuttle work items
AKTATTER: I have not found it to matter at all but as a general rule
AKTATTER: being right handed
AKTATTER: I enter the look from the side farthest from me and exit in the middle
AKTATTER: coming toward me with the needle

Winkerbill: can't knit for long....it hurts my neck and I'm allergic to the wool/yarn

Winkerbill: so I knit for a couple hours in the morning, then take a shower to get rid of any stray "fuzz" from the yarn, then tat the rest of the day.

Winkerbill: I am SO tired of the cold, but you can get a lot of tatting done when you live in the south and don't know how to drive in snow.

Winkerbill: I can wear them, just can't ...um...rub them around under my nose or mouth, I guess.  :-)  I can't wear angora or mohair, but i can wear wool and acrylic stuff.

picotsnkeys: I went back to an old browser and apparently left myself vulnerable to an annoying cookie/virus. Didn't do much, just slowed everything down.
