picotsnkeys: I tend to make notes on my paper copy of a pattern along the lines of tab A goes in slot A with numbers/letters in circles above the join mark. Helps me.

maria alcant: I pass all the week thinking each row and how to climb (CTM) gut nothing else...
Cynthia: I'd do it the first time with--gasp--all the cut and ties I needed to do it the first time
Cynthia: Yes I hate cut and tie and hide as much as anyone
maria alcant: we use to se 3-3-3-3 way,
Cynthia: how true and once you get used to that it seems so foreign to see it anyway else, right
maria alcant: I only find a CTM between the first 2 row...then I tie and cut....and restar the 3 row.....and CTM to the 4th row...

Cynthia: I guess the problem was actually I was seeing the entire pattern in its simplicity--rings and chains not how it was written.
maria alcant: but we have to learn to read different way of expresions....so if you want that they tatt it probably you have to go slower
maria alcant: and is a great opportunity to show them another method....but isn´t imposible!
Cynthia: I am doing the Leids doily and it isn't in English so I have been working from the picture as if it were a visual pattern and honestly dlidn't think of the possibility of the other problem

Cynthia: The basic difference in the ongoing class and the beginner is it sometimes skips over the easier things...

AKTATTER: THERE ARE ONLY TWO SPLIT RINGS AND 1 SPLIT CHAIN NECESSARY SO YOU COULD JUST USE THE BALL AS IF IT WERE A SHUTTLE FOR THOSE FEW STITCHES
