Let it Snow! A flurry of Tatted Snowflakes

I received this note this week:

I found your web site because I was looking for samples of needlework and tatting in the period 1850 to 1860 here in America. I am a School Sister of Notre Dame who lives in St. Louis Missouri. We will be decorating a Christmas tree with the theme The School Sisters of Notre Dame - The Pioneer Years 1850-1860 as part of a Christmas tree display at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, IL. SSND came to the US in 1847 and we taught needlework to young girls. We thought some of the ornaments could be samples of needlework/tatting….or photos of the work that we could use to create the ornaments. I liked the small pink heart on the first page of your web site. Would you be able to send us jpegs of some of the tatting you may have and give us permission to use them for our tree.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Sister. Genevieve Cassani, SSND

This is the list I made for Sister Genevieve.
So why don't we take a look at some of the snowflake patterns so we can get into the mood
for this massive coldwave dipping down from the arctic climes.
