2009 Lesson Index - The Online Tatting Class


Welcome to the 10th season of the online tatting class! The members of the class are international. The ongoing topic of study for this year will be beaded tatting, celtic styles, and shaded colors block tatting. All patterns, ideas, and suggestions are welcome. Guest tatters/teachers are invited to share their love of tatting with the class.

The beginners tatting class meets on Thurs. 3 PM and 9 PM ET (New York time) and it led by Cynthia, Anne and many helpers. To join, please email AKTATTER@aol.com. Visit the beginners' class website today!

Ellen Lai presents a pattern of the month for tatters everywhere. Cute designs to decorate paperclips! Paperclips make excellent space holders for self-closing mock rings as well as everyday organizers of papers and patterns. Many thanks to her for sharing with us. The Regular Online Tatting Class meets on Mondays 3PM and 8:30PM ET
The Beginning needle tatting class meets Mondays from 2:30PM to 3PM and 8PM to 8:30PM ET before the regular class.
The Spanish speaking tatters class meets on Sundays 3PM ET
The Beginning shuttle tatting class meets on Thursday 3PM and 9PM ET
The French speaking tatters class begins in December, well probably January :)

Let's consider the many possibilites of using sequins with tatting. Here are a few examples found online:

Reading Writing and
Diagramming Tatting Patterns

Appearing in the Nov/Dec 2009 issue of PIECEWORK are two vintage patterns written up by Jane Moody. There are no photos. This will be an exercise is reading through a pattern, rewriting vintage directions in modern tatting notation and perhaps diagramming the pattern too.
