Part 1: Two shuttles wound CTM with green thread, 4 beads on Shuttle 2, 3 beads on thread between shuttles.

Ch: 3 B, 6 ds
SCMR: leave loop of core thread, Ch 3 ds, switch shuttles
R: (with bead on ring around hand) 8 ds, B, 6 ds, vsp, 2 ds, clr, switch shuttles [Ch: 1 ds, vsp, 1 ds, switch shuttles
R: (with bead on ring around hand) 8 ds, B, 8 ds, clr, switch shuttles] 2 times Ch: 1 ds, vsp, 1 ds, switch shuttles
R: (with bead on ring around hand) 2 ds, vsp, 6 ds, B, 8 ds, clr, switch shuttles Ch: 1 ds
pass shuttle through loop at beginning and close SCMR. Tie and cut. You may encapsulate these thread ends later instead of working them in now.

Part 2: 0ne shuttle wound with red thread, with 38 beads.

All rings in this section are worked as follows: with bead on ring around hand, 4 ds, join, 4 ds, close ring with bead at base of ring.

Row 1: Make first ring joined to the vsp of the last green ring. Leave 1/8" bare thread between and make next 3 rings joined to the vsp's of the SCMR, while lifting the green rings out of the way. Make 5th ring joined to the vsp of the last green ring. Carry thread down and make lock join in the same vsp the last ring is joined to, and carry thread back up in position to begin next row.

Row 2: Make 8 rings, with 2 rings joined to each thread space between the rings of Row 1, with about 1/8" bare thread between rings. At end of row, carry thread down and make lock join at base of first ring of Row 1, then carry thread back up in position to begin next row.

Row 3: Make 7 rings with one ring joined to each thread space of the row below and about 1/8" bare thread between rings. At end of row, carry thread down and make 1 split-chain style ds on the bare thread connecting between rows, and then carry thread back up in position to begin next row.

Rows 4 - 7: Work in similar manner with one ring joined to each thread space of the row below and one fewer ring per row. Decrease bare thread space between rings to about 2 mm. On last row, work rings very close together. At end of last row, carry thread down and make ds on bare thread as before and cut.

Part 3: Two shuttles wound CTM with red thread, with 1 bead on Shuttle 1.

Join at base of last green ring. Work down along side making wrapped, split-chain style stitches encapsulating over the Shuttle 2 thread, the bare threads at the ends of rows, and any loose thread ends. When you get to the bottom of the strawberry, work one stitch over the thread between the first 2 rings, switch shuttles, Chain 3 ds, B, 3 ds, switch shuttles. Work one stitch over the thread between the last 2 rings and continue working up the other side till you reach the base of the first green ring.
