Eliz Davis' Variations on the Anna Valeire Square Continued

The original pattern challenge for the Anna Valeire pattern, Eliz Davis' Adaptation of a Anna Valeire Pattern,
was presented on May 07, 2007.

Eliz writes: "This bookmark is one of the oldest patterns I've designed using the Valeire Square--at least 7 years old. A little research would help me date it more accurately. The ice cream cone pattern we shared with you on May 7 was inspired by this project. The question has always been, "Just what is it?" Since I had no particular shape or goal in mind as it developed, your guess is as good as mine. You'll see some of the suggestions I've received in one of the images I've provided. I use Finca size 16 perle cotton to produce a bookmark that is 4 inches by 3 inches.

How about a square motif that uses the Valeire Square as its center?  String 3 of them together for a bookmark.  Join them to make a square or rectangular doily.  Or make a corner bookmark as I've done!  Worked in Flora size 20, the bookmark is approximately 2 1/2 inches square.  Notice that the two sides of the bookmark are different since the two Valeire Squares are joined to each other on two sides only."

I hope you've been inspired to try a few new ideas of your own.

Many thanks to Eliz Davis in Arkansas aka "tatknot" for sharing her challenge with the class.
