Mother's Day in the US is coming up on May 13. Here are a few ideas to help celebrate the day with tatting:

http://www.georgiaseitz.com/rodgers/carnation.html
It is a custom many places here for the ladies to wear flowers on Mom's day. A carnation in color if one's mother is still alive or a white carnation to honor her memory.

http://www.georgiaseitz.com/classes2001/bride/goodmanbout.html
This boutonniere holder would work with the carnation, too.

http://www.georgiaseitz.com/mayday/mayday.html
And if you are up to tatting a bouquet of carnations, here's just the tatted vase to hold them.

Ruth Perry will be guest hosting the class today as I will be flying back from the LPS Workshop in Seattle. Ruth will present her hangling cluny flower. Both diagram and instructions are posted on her blog: for the Daisy Cluny Ring flower. It is a combination of the technique of the Daisy Picot Ring, and the Hanging Cluny. It is a normal ring, with hanging clunys around instead of picots or daisy picots. Many thanks to Ruth for her help.

Debbie Arnold will be presenting her instructions for the Catherine Wheel Join (a ball thread join) and she encourages you to print off the Eagle pattern from the website for a practice piece. Be sure to join us!
