Rita's Martina Angel
by Riet Surtel-Smeulders

Back of "Martina"

Front of "Martina"

This angel is almost the same as Rita's angel but Martina has a flower in her hand and the wing is different.

First the hand, after the first 5 DS of the arm
R 10 cl second part of arm.

The Wing

When you want to have a totally white wing, you have to take care to do the shoelace trick before you tat a chain. After you have made the join to start the wing go on with:
R 6 - 6 (picot big enough for 4 additional joins) RW
*CH 10 RW R 6 + (join to picot of first ring) 6 RW**
Repeat from * til ** 3 times.
CH 10 RW
R 5 - 5 cl RW
CH 10 RW
R 2 - 2 cl RW
CH 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 + (join to picot of 5th ring) 2 - 2 - 2 RW
R 6 + (join to first ring, this is the 5th ring in the top of the wing) 6 cl RW
CH 2 - 2 - 2 + (join to last picot of starting ring) tie and cut, take care to leave two long tails to make a nice knot on the back of the skirt.

The flower is Helma Siepmann's "Kreatives Occhi" (which has just been translated into English and will be available soon under the title, "Tatting Innovations.")
